Dealing with Drug Abuse Class Held at the Technology Center TuesdayFamily Out Reach University classes are to be offered from 5:30 to 7:30 on Tuesday evenings at the Technology Center and classroom assignments will be posted at the registration desk on the day of the class. All classes are free and you may attend any class you wish. However, courses that are offered in sequence (101, 201, 301, etc.) will likely prove more valuable if attended in their order of presentation. The classes kicked off last two weeks ago with the first in a series called Dealing with Drug Abuse. Attendees learned valuable information about drugs and how to help someone overcome addiction, which was provided by a representative of the Narconon Arrowhead Drug Rehabilitation and Education Program. The third and final class on Dealing with Drug Abuse 301 will wrap up on February 1st with a look at how drugs affect society, including healthcare, criminality and associated costs. It will also examine drug abuse in the workplace. FOR-U is a community service project sponsored and staffed by members of the Family OutReach Coalition for Excellence (FORCE). This organization consists of individuals from numerous agencies and organizations in Pittsburg County, which provide services to children and families. For more information on FOR-U or to find out more about FORCE, please contact Dr. Terry Shaw at 423-1267. |
