Anabolic-Androgenic Steroid Abuse

Steroid abuse or anabolic-androgenic steroid abuse is an ever-growing problem amongst athletes and others to improve physical appearance and enhance performance. Steroids are abused by users taking them orally or injecting them and are typically used in cycles where the user takes the drugs for weeks or months, rather then taking them all the time. For adolescents who abuse steroids they often experience a halt in growth, and accelerated puberty changes.

Additionally those who inject abuse steroids often run the risk of contracting diseases like hepatitis and HIV/AIDS.

Abusing steroids also causes many negative mental effects including aggression, extreme mood swings, manic-like symptoms, violence, depression, paranoid jealousy, delusions, extreme irritability, and impaired judgment.
