Narconon Arrowhead Receives Certification

Narconon Arrowhead Receives Certification from Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

State officials recognize and welcome successful drug-free rehabilitation approach.

CANADIAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (ODMHSAS) awarded full certification to Narconon of Oklahoma, Inc. (dba) Narconon Arrowhead's drug free withdrawal program after department inspectors verified the center was in 100% compliance with the criteria required by the state for non-medical detoxification.

The Department's recommendation for full certification was sanctioned by a unanimous vote by the Oklahoma Board of Mental Health at their monthly meeting held at Department headquarters in Oklahoma City on the 11th of March.  Full certification is valid for three years, which is the most allowed under the Department's regulations.

Narconon Arrowhead CEO, Gary W. Smith said, "My center's goal has always been to meet or exceed state and federal treatment standards because the individuals that we help are the ones that benefit from a higher quality care in the end. I think it's a new era for the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and treatment providers in the state.

We have known for some time that substance abuse is one of the key factors that are driving up prison and health care costs and more treatment services are needed, not less.  State regulations seem to be moving more towards inclusion of alternative types of effective rehabilitation methods and programs rather then being exclusive to what has been considered traditional treatment methods."

In addition to ODMHSAS certification Narconon's drug and alcohol rehabilitation program is accredited by the nationally recognized and prestigious Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF) since the center was first licensed in Oklahoma in 1991.  The organization has helped thousands of people recover from drug addiction since that time and has helped prevent drug use through education to hundreds of thousands across the country through the application of L. Ron Hubbard's effective drug-free rehabilitation methodology.

Adds Smith, "I am impressed with the cooperative spirit that exists today with the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse and treatment providers in the state of Oklahoma.  I know this is due, in now small part, to the Department leadership and support in making more treatment services available by the Governor's office."

Narconon Arrowhead is one of the largest private residential treatment centers in the United States.  The center services between 200 and 230 people in need at a time and program participants range from 18 to over 60 years of age and come from all walks of life all over the country as well as overseas.  It is also the main training center for Narconon's international network of drug rehabilitation and education programs that now reaches 40 countries.

Success Story - Drug Addiction Rehab
My win today was that I finally feel that I can be independent and do things on my own and not have to rely on something, such as drugs or someone. I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but I have handled them with the help of this drug rehab program. I look forward to each and every day instead of dreading on getting up. I am happy, living a drug-free life, being productive each day, having a relationship back with my family because of the trust that has been regained over the last four months that I have been clean! T.H.
