ImageIn celebrating our Independence we should be careful not to lose our lives due to drugs and alcohol.

For over 200 years Americans have been celebrating Independence Day, "The 4th of July." We celebrate on this day because this is the day that the Continental Congress adopted the final draft of the Declaration of Independence. In the middle 1700's like today the American people had grievances and though today’s world is much different than the world of the Colonists we are still free. Freedom is what we celebrate but in this day and time of celebration we should not forget what freedom is all about.

Many Americans rich and poor across the nation struggle on a daily basis with addiction and they have no real freedom. During "The 4th of July" thousands of American lives are lost due to drug and alcohol abuse. With fireworks exploding overhead as friends and families enjoy the festivities of the holiday season many are secretly suffering in their addiction to drugs and alcohol. Like most holidays it's a time of fun, relaxation, parties, and if the proper steps are not taken to prevent it, disaster.

Drunken driving accidents happen everyday in the US. During the holidays people tend to indulge in alcoholic beverages but, like any other day, it's not a day to drink and drive. Weather you are in a car or on a boat you should have a sober driver at all times to ensure the safety of everyone. As always the best option is just not to drink at all but, there are those who do and that’s why even if you don't you need to be extra careful. Too many people in the world still do not understand that alcohol, drugs and driving don’t mix. The consequences are just not worth the risk of losing a life.

Narconon Arrowhead one of the world's largest and most successful drug and alcohol rehabilitation center wants you to know that addiction is not unbeatable. So, this Independence Day make it a safe one for you and everyone around you. If you find yourself in a situation where drugs and alcohol are present remember that you are in control and it's your responsibility to "say no." There are buses, cabs, transits and many other ways of safe transportation for those of you who do decide to partake in drinking or drugs but please don't get behind the wheel it could save your life or the one of someone else. Drug Alcohol Rehab - Success Story
I am very pleased at what I have learned in this drug rehab program and how many wins and gains I have achieved. I feel like an entirely new person, possibly like the one I was before I got lost and sucked into the world of drug addiction. I am very grateful and appreciative of the staff here for helping me get my life back. J.Z.
