2003 Narconon Arrowhead Anniversary and National Recovery Month Event

From webcasts, recovery rallies, CD releases and book tours, to proclamations, guest speakers and celebrity appearances, the 2003 National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month proved to be successful.

For the past 14 years this annual observance throughout the month of September sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has been gaining acceptance and participation in order to support the idea the not only is recovery possible, but that it happens every day with successful programs. The celebration  in 2003 included nearly 300 events throughout the month that were held across the country.

Then president of Narconon Arrowhead exclaimed in his welcoming address to nearly 1,000 people in Oklahoma, "Though National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month lasts for thirty days, the focus and efforts to solve addiction on every level must continue all year long."

Narconon Arrowhead is one of the nation's premier rehabilitation and education facilities, and their Recovery Month celebration and anniversary event featured actress, mother and drug free advocate Priscilla Presley, who attended a graduation ceremony at the facility and then spoke at the main event the next evening. The Narconon® program achieves a very high rate for success due to the application of L. Ron Hubbard's drug rehabilitation methodology.

"Throughout my life, like many others in America, I have had the heartbreaking experience of seeing family and friends fall into addiction to alcohol or other drugs. As a result of these experiences, as well as others, I became passionate about the cause of recovery. I am a strong supporter of Narconon because they have demonstrated conclusively for 37 years that stable recovery for most addicts IS possible," said Presley.

Ms. Presley also quoted from the 2003 National Survey on Drug Abuse and Health, which was released at the beginning of the month, the statistic that more than half of our nation's youth have tried illicit drugs before they finished high school. This figure is staggering and clearly more emphasis needs to be put on the issue.

The White House has recognized the necessity for effective prevention and rehabilitation as well and President Bush's Access to Recovery initiative makes an additional $600 million available in a voucher system for people to be able to choose what type of program they wish to attend.

Prescription Drug Rehab Success Story
After completing all the books here at Narconon Arrowhead's Drug Rehab, I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that I have everything I need to make it in life without drugs. While at this drug rehab, I concentrated and applied myself hard. I took everything very, very seriously. From day one, I made a choice that drugs would not be a part of my life any more. I was so disgusted with the drug life and I knew I was so much more capable than I was giving myself credit for. I am the driver of my life and Narconon Arrowhead brought this “old beat-up car” back to “showroom condition” with a “tuned up “ engine that will produce all of the power and control I will need to drive straight to the top. I feel that I am ten times better than before. I am so excited and pumped because my confidence is so high due to the fact that I feel, plain and simply, I’ve finally got it. K.A.
