Spreading the Spirit of Giving

The executives, staff and students of Narconon Arrowhead combine to provide presents for the kids of the Eufaula Dormitory in the true Christmas spirit.

CANADIAN, Ok ? A couple years ago the relationship between the Creek Nation Eufaula Dormitory and Narconon Arrowhead began when behavioral therapist Gayla Norman set up a drug education and prevention presentation provided by Narconon Arrowhead for her kids.  In a letter written by Ms. Norman she expressed that Narconon "has shown a dedication toward the prevention of alcohol and drugs in our youth.  We have felt welcomed and look forward to the services and activities in the future."

The common bond of wanting to help those in need has blossomed into what was quite an event Tuesday night at the rehabilitation facility in Arrowhead State Park.  All 76 students from the dormitory arrived to receive their gifts and share the joy of the Christmas season with Narconon Arrowhead's more than 200 students and 160 staff.  There was even a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

In addition to the presents given to the kids, who range from 1st grade through 12th grade, Narconon Arrowhead provided copies of The Way to Happiness and books on improving studying and learning abilities written by L. Ron Hubbard.  The Way to Happiness is a common sense guide to better living applicable to all regardless of background, and millions of copies have been distributed all over the world, including by some NFL alumni, government organizations and law enforcement.

Mr. Hubbard's drug-free rehabilitation methodology is also basis for the Narconon® drug rehabilitation and Education Program, which began with the organization's founder William Benitez 38 years ago and has grown into more than 120 programs in nearly 40 countries because of its effectiveness.

As for Tuesday's magical night of giving and sharing, in the words of one Arrowhead executive, "It was a life-changing experience for many of us.  It brings great joy to see a child get gifts during the Holiday Season, especially when they might not have otherwise received anything."
