Ultram Addiction - A Serious ProblemUltram addiction is an ever growing problems amongst individuals of all ages. The 2006 National Drug Control Strategy issued by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP, 2006) identified the illegal use of pharmaceuticals as one of the fastest-growing forms of drug abuse. This includes the abuse of prescription pain medications such as Ultram. Ultram is often used for moderate to severe pain associated with accidents or surgeries. It falls into the drug category of opiods, along with such drugs as morphine, codeine, vicoden, Oxy Contin and perocet. Use of the drug can cause a person to develop Ultram addiction, which occurs when a person becomes physically dependent on the drug and develops a drug tolerance, where they have to take more and more of the drug to get the same effect.
