National Recovery Month has been supported by the United States for about 22 years. This is a time where those who are and have fought addiction are recognized for their passion to get off drugs. This is also a month to acknowledge those who have helped the addicted fight and conquer their addiction to drugs no matter how hard it was.
Narconon is one of the many treatment centers in support of this month. We help not only those addicted get off of drugs and start a new life, but we also educate the youth and business world as well.
Drugs and alcohol can and will affect both of these. For example, if you have an employee who is addicted to alcohol they will most likely come to work intoxicated or drinks while on the job. This is very dangerous especially if the intoxicated employee works with large or heavy machinery. Working while intoxicated not only puts the person at risk, but the other employees as well.
Educating the youth is also very important to Narconon. Children that live in homes that have drugs in them are negatively affected in more than one way. Most of the time these children do not do well in school and maybe even act out for attention that they lack at home. When representatives from Narconon go out and educate these children, they are trying to give them a fighting chance in a world filled with drugs. They want them to know that there is help out there for their loved ones that have an addiction problem. They also want them to know how bad drugs and alcohol are so they do not follow in their addicted families footsteps and turn to drugs in their future.
Narconon has done a lot of other things in the past to continue to help support those in and around their community. They get involved with Red Ribbon week in October and they also did a campaign in McAlester called “Take McAlester Back”, this involved a 10K run for the arts and humanities. Narconon continues to get involved and help in any way they can.
Becoming educated about drug addiction is very important at any age because, unfortunately, addiction is everywhere you turn. Narconon wants to help educate those who want to know more about addiction, as well as help those suffering from drug or alcohol addiction. If you or a loved one is in need of help for a drug addiction, call Narconon today at 800-468-6933.
