Narconon Arrowhead Participates In Alcohol Awareness Month

Narconon, one of the world’s largest and most effective drug rehabilitation centers, discusses the importance of Alcohol Awareness Month and how you can become involved.

April is the 24th annual National Alcohol Awareness Month.  According to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Incorporated, Alcohol Awareness Month began as a way of reaching the American public with information about alcoholism - that it is treatable, not a moral weakness, and that alcoholics are capable of recovery.

Alcohol use is the norm for most Americans.  In fact, more than half of Americans aged 12 or older reported being current drinkers of alcohol in the most recent National Survey on Drug Use and Health.  They also determined that nearly one quarter of persons aged 12 or older, or 59.6 million people, participated in binge drinking at least once in the 30 days prior.

These overwhelming statistics show the importance of a raised awareness amongst children and adults alike, of the dangers associated with Alcohol use.
Narconon Arrowhead, one of the largest and most successful treatment centers in the world, is working to promote Alcohol Awareness.  Through drug education and radio interviews around the country, Narconon is hoping to open the eyes of the American people to the true dangers of alcohol abuse and how it is effecting our youth. The facility is also admitting clients for alcohol rehab services.
