Nevada\s need for drug rehab:  During 2003, there were 9,858 arrests for drug violations in Nevada, but this figure doesnt include arrests made by the Nevada Division of Investigation or the Highway Patrol.  The NDI made 283 arrests for dru sales and manufacturing during 2003 and the DEA made 199 arrests during 2004.  There were 110,520 index offenses reported by police in Nevada during 2003, which is up from 98,396 in 2002 and 90,359 in 2001.  Also during 2003, approximately 16% of the 180 murders in Nevada for which the offense circumstance was knon were drug-related.  As these trends continue to increase in Nevada, there is a strong need for drug rehab programs throughout the state. 

Nevada\'s need for cocaine addiction treatment:  Cocaine, particularly crack cocaine, is a significant problem in the urban areas of Nevada.  Cocaine HCL is moderately available in northern Nevada and readily available throughout the southern areas of the state.  For the entire population in Nevada, 2.38% have used cocaine at least once in their life.  Currently, 8.3% of 9th graders, 9.6% of 10th graders, 13.5% of 11th and 12th graders report using cocaine at least once in their lifetime.  These high cocaine abuse statistics, there is a demand for cocaine addiction treatment in Nevada.  Also, during 2004, Federal agencies seized more than 26 kilograms of cocaine in Nevada.

Nevada\'s need for methamphetamine drug rehab:  Methamphetamine, both imported inot the state and locally produced, rmains the principle drug of concern in Nevada and methamphetamine drug rehab programs are needed in the state.  The purity level for mthamphetamine imported into the state ranges from 9% to 26%.  Locally-produced methamphetamine is foten of a higher purity level, averaging 90%.  Teen methamphetamine abuse continues to rise as 9.0% of 9th graders, 10.9% of 10th graders, 16.8% of 11th graders, and 14.9% of 12th graders report using methamphetamine at least once in their life. 

Nevada\'s need for marijuana addiction treatment:  Domestically cultivated and Mexican grown marijuana remain readily available in Nevada.  Approximately 46.6% of nevada high school students surveyed in 2003 reported using marijuana during their lifetime.  Also, 57.5% of Nevada 12th graders surveyed in 2003 reported using marijuana at least once in their life.  The DEA eradicated more than 1,800 marijuana plants and seized 243.1 kilograms of marijuana in Nevada.  Also, 12.5% of teen marijuana abusers in Nevada reported using marijuana for the first time before the age of 13.  Teen marijuana abuse continues to rise and marijuana addictiont treatment is clearly needed in Nevada. 

Nevada\'s need for prescription drug rehab:  The prescription drugs of choice in Nevada include Lortab, Hydrocodone, Xanax, Codeine, Diazepam, and Oxycodone.  Prescription drug rehab programs are needed due to increase of methods used to divert prescription drugs in Nevada, such as prescription forgery and doctor shopping.
